COD League Regulation Match Rules

To keep the competition fair and organized, all regulation matches must follow these guidelines:

1. Player & Match Eligibility

  • Minimum Players: A regulation match must have at least 3 League members participating.

  • Remaining Games Rule: All participating League members must have remaining games for that week.

  • Ineligible Players: If any League member in the match has no remaining games, the match automatically becomes an Exhibition Match (no points or stats count toward League standings).

  • Substitution Rule: You may not substitute in a player who is out of games to give an advantage to other players.

2. Declaring a League Match

  • Pre-Match Declaration: A match must be declared as a League Match before the game starts.

  • Notification: Post in the COD League Messenger group with the game title “League Match” before loading in, and all names of those in the match.

  • Streaming Requirement: All players must stream the match for verification. Stream title must include “League Match.” Challenge points must be verifiable with clips and streams.

3. Match Count Limits

  • Max Matches: Each player can participate in a maximum of 5 League Matches per week.

  • Weekly Reset: Matches reset every Friday at 12:00 AM (Central Time).

  • No Mid-Match Changes: An Exhibition match cannot be switched to a League match mid-game or visa versa.

4. Reporting Rules

  • Kills & Placements: All kills and challenge results must be reported in the COD League Messenger group after the match.

  • Stats Verification: Stats will be verified via the stream or in-game screenshots. League member vouching is not an acceptable means for challenge verification.

  • Challenge Verification:

    • All challenges must be fully clipped with no missing time from the start to the end of the challenge, and verifiable on your stream.

    • It would be very helpful, and potentially required in the future to write your time stamps of your stream for challenge point verification.

  • No Off-Topic Chat: The League Messenger group is for match scheduling and results only.

5. Fair Play & Integrity

  • No Match Fixing: Players may not intentionally manipulate results to benefit themselves or others.

  • No Boosting: Non-League members may not participate, a random must be used in any 4th spot and the playoffs.

  • Sportsmanship: All participants must uphold respectful and competitive behavior at all times.

6. Commissioners Powers

  • No Dictator Here: There are too many potential rules, challenges and organization to vote on everything, however. . . if there is a rule change you would like to see, please bring it up to Donnie, the league commissioner and if it makes sense, and keeps the integrity of the league, it may be voted on, or implemented. All disputes will go to a vote. The commissioner does have the power to decide if it shall be a Majority vote, major majority vote or a unanimous. A majority vote with 8 players is 5. A major majority is 1 vote over majority, so with 8 would be 6. Unanimous would be everyone.

  • No Rule Favoring: All participants must uphold respectful and competitive behavior at all times. With that being the case, no rule should be made to favor one person, or to benefit someone directly. All rules must be looked at from a League POV.

  • Changing / Establishing Rules: To change an existing rule, a Major Majority will be needed. To add a rule to the league, a majority will be needed. To 86 a rule, a unanimous vote will be required.

  • Challenges and Challenge Points: Challenges are chosen by ChatGPT and moderated and edited by the commissioner. At any time a player thinks that the commissioner has made / set a challenge for his benefit or to the detriment of another player, then a majority vote can 86 the challenge. The commissioner will set out the vote to if it is an even number of member, and will vote if it is an odd number of members.

  • New Members: must be unanimously voted into the league, and can begin match play at the time of the vote. Back points will not be awarded for competitiveness. This league could facilitate up to 12 players.
